Time to consider electric vehicles

Kiyoto Morisaki, president of Kinki Taxi Corp, an operator of taxi services in Kobe, was only of those who gave the vehicle a trial spin. "It was fun to drive(the vehicle). It reminded me of driving a go-cart,"Morisaki said.
Morisaki, who is involved in a project to redevelop Nagata Ward in Kobe, became interested in electric vehicles as an alternative form of improving mobility in the town.
Meanwhile, AREEV's electric vehicle is also aimed at revitalizing local industry. The design of the vehicle is "as simple as possible." Although the vehicle does not have a roof, one can be added using locally produced materials such as timber or cloth. "Because of its simple design, there is huge room for creativity and this might appeal to young people,"Morisaki said.
